Race 1 (1:50pm) REAL WORLD

Comes into this contest looking for a hattrick, having followed a win in the Class 2 – Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot, with a win in the listed Steventon Stakes at Newbury (1m 2f, good to firm), beating Derab by 1.25 lengths. Drops a solitary 1lb here, while race rivals such as Brunch come in some 10lbs better off than that Ascot run. Tough test for Saeed Bin Suroor’s runner, but likely the one to beat still.

Race 2 (2:25pm) KING OF THE CASTLE

Grabbed a maiden victory at the sixth attempt, when winning the Garryowen Maiden at Limerick (1m 4f, yielding to soft) last month, 4.25 lengths clear of Shinpachi. Has been a steady improver for Aiden O’Brien throughout his career so far and there looks to be more to come, despite the step up in class. Strong palace claims here at very least.

Race 3 (3:00pm) PRIMO BACIO

Maiden winner on fourth attempt, when sealing a Class 5 contest at Lingfield, last December, before returning in style, when a 14/1 victor, in a listed fillie’s stakes over C&D in May and finishing 3 lengths clear of Creative Flair. Place a creditable fifth of thirteen in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes last time out at Racing HQ, just 1.5 lengths behind Snow Lantern and if she can repeat that sort of form here, should clearly feature amongst the leading lights.

Race 4 [3:35pm) FUJAIRA PRINCE

Consistently strong for Roger Varian, with five wins and six places in eleven career runs. The last victory was in this Ebor Handicap last year, when half a length clear of Glencadam Glory. Has since placed 23-3, warming up for the defence of this contest, with a third here at York (1m 5f, good), 3.5 lengths behind Hukum. Tough ask to repeat the feat this time around, but still capable of featuring amongst the places.

Race 5 (4:10pm) BALLET STEPS

Kevin Ryan’s juvenile, got off to a perfect start on debut, when taking the spoils in a Class 5 contest at Beverley (5f, good), beating Bollin May by a neck, with the remainder a further 2 lengths back. This Dabirsim filly, out of Savannah’s Dream has a good pedigree and can go close once again, with expected improvement.

Race 6 (4:40pm) AERION POWER

Three career wins, came in a hattrick cluster, with the last of those coming in May, at Doncaster (1m, good to firm), beating Willyorwon’t He by three quarters of a length. Has since stepped up to Class 2 level, narrowly missing out by a neck to Colony Queen, again at Doncaster (1m 2f, good to firm), before placing third last time out at Glorious Goodwood, 4 lengths back from winner and race rival Qaader, who will be 8lbs worse off this time around. Strong claims and should feature.
