The Tote’s excellent Placepot bet offers a chance for punters to win big on multiples, with relatively small stakes. Check out our placepot picks for the day at Doncaster on Tuesday afternoon
Note All races paying three places only
Race 1 (12:30pm) BRIGHT ARMOR
Debuted a 33/1 eighth at Newmarket at the beginning of the month, but this included Windsor Castle winner Tactical, who finished third that day. A somewhat less competitive field today should give them a fairer chance and result in a better result and performance this afternoon.
Race 2 (1:00pm) ANGHAAM
Pedigree alone should be a massive plus, considering she is by Frankel, out of a 1000 Guineas winner, who has already produced a winner. Plenty of expectation on this Richard Hannon trained runner and it would be a surprise to not see them in the thick of it, come the judge.
Race 3 (1:30pm) MR WAGYU
After a plethora of thirds and fourths, this John Quinn runner finally picked up a third career victory at Ayr eight days ago, leading 2f out and holding on by a neck on similar ground. Rises 4lbs today that shouldn’t hinder their chances too much.
Race 4 (2:00pm) ADMIRALTY
A previous winner over 7f in Class 2 company last year, drops down a level this afternoon, having struggled at times. A switch back to 6f has however offered some renewed hope, with the sixth place at Newcastle offering some encouragement. Ben Curtis is back onboard and should go well at this level.
Race 5 (2:30pm) GHERKIN
First three career runs, didn’t really warrant much interest, but he did finish fifth of twelve on handicap debut at Windsor a fortnight ago. That extra sharpness will help, but needs to find a bit more, if he is to challenge for more than places.
Race 6 (3:00pm) INDIE ANGEL
Winner at Chelmsford back in December, over a mile and returned from a break to make her handicap debut at the Essex venue, three weeks ago, when third, thanks to a slow start and being kept out wide by the pack. Wears first time cheek-pieces and looks open to improvement here.
