Race 1 (12:30pm) KAKAMORA
Not exactly a great start on debut, when sixth (of nine) at Exeter, in early November, but has picked up successive second placed finishes in the two runs since, both at Ludlow, including the latest over 1m 7f, soft in December, when 9.5 lengths behind Favoir. Has been off since then, which may be a minor issue here, but there is no doubt to his talent, with a victory expected soon from Tom George’s runner.
Race 2 (1:00pm) LADRONNE
Sealed a double around this time last year, winning at Newcastle and Southwell (2m 4f – 2m 6f) but hasn’t been able to add to those wins since. A fourth at Kelso (2m 6f, soft) in December was probably the pick of recent form, when some 4 lengths adrift of Empire De Maulde. He was badly hampered in latest at Warwick to negate that result, but with a drop in class today, he should be in the mix for the spoils at very least.
Race 3 (1:35pm) GENTLEMAN’S DREAM
Eight race maiden, who showed marked improvement last time out, when second at Fontwell (2m 1f, good to soft) , 1.25 lengths behind Gaia Vallis. Drop in distance looks to suit, as will the drying conditions. Expected to be in a straight fight with Brooksway Fair.
Race 4 (2:05pm) HEURE DE GLOIRE
Won on only start over in France, before being brought over by David Pipe. Difficult to see where that win puts her amongst UK runners, but based off that run and a fair bit of market interest, she looks avery interesting sort indeed. Wears headgear for the first time today ina competitive contest.
Race 5 (2:35pm) AJERO
Placed twice in opening two starts, before securing a treble in last three runs, when stepping up to Class 3 competition and winning at Market Rasen (2m, soft), 2 lengths clear of Miss Heritage. Looked to have a bit in hand that day and should be able to deal with the 5lbs rise here.
Race 6 (3:10pm) MIDNIGHT MARY
Decent enough, without really threatening in her first six starts, but showed a marked improvement, when taking a maiden win at Huntingdon (3m 1f, good to soft) earlier this month and finishing a length ahead of Galactic Power. 6lbs rise is going to test her, but the leaps and bounds since handicapping, could continue today, with Champagne Lilly a potential threat.
