Note Races 2 and 6 are two places instead of three.

Race 1 (12:15pm) TILSIT

Exciting debut over C&D at the beginning of the month, when second by a head to Haggas Yard’s Al Salt. However he finished some 9.5 lengths ahead of third and will only be better for that run. Low draw isn’t ideal, but was drawn 2 previously, so should be able to perform once more. Strong odds on favourite.

Race 2 (12:45pm) TOUSSAROK

Half brother to Group 2 race winner Tropbeau, while dam had wins over 6f /7f on all weather. Mark Johnston has been in great form recently and this runner certainly fits the criteria based on pedigree. Main threat to favourite Inhaler and looks likely to make a strong debut appearance this afternoon.

Race 3 (1:20pm) STAXTON

Won the equivalent race last year by a length and a half, but has found it difficult to find similar form since then. Finished seventh at Newmarket last time out, three weeks ago and should be sharper for that run. Tough challenge to beat favourite Tabdeed, but can run well here.

Race 4 (1:50pm) MUBAKKER

Steps up to Group 3 competition today, but comes in off the back of a Class 2 victory over C&D here at the turn of the month, to continue the quick progression for Sir Michael Stoute. Looks to have more in the tank and looks a strong candidate here.

Race 5 (2:25pm) VENTUROUS

Winner over C&D back in January, beating Heath Charnock and clearly needed the run, when seventh at Newmarket on his return at the beginning of the month. Picked up a second at Haydock three days ago, which offers more encouragement. Minor concern over the quick turnaround, but that’s unlikely to factor in here, if he continues his form.

Race 6 (2:55pm) VIRGIN SNOW

Comes into this race off the back of a Class 3 victory at Haydock some eighteen days ago and has proven herself on the all-weather, when third last year. This looks to be a big step up to Group 3 competition, but this daughter of Oaks winner Snow Fairy can show her pedigree this afternoon.
