Race 1 (1:20pm) RED JOAN

Disappointed on debut run over C&D, when a 9/2 shot, but finishing sixth of eight runners. Was slowly away and failed to settle in that run thirteen days ago, but really should come on leaps and bounds, now getting that greenness out of her system. Jamie Doyle rides today.

Race 2 (1:50pm) YIBIR

Two wins in seven starts, including the sealing of a double at Newbury (1m, good) back in September, beating Megallan by a length and a further half length clear of Jumby. Has since placed third in a Group 3 at Sandown (1m 1f, good) and most recently second at Goodwood (1m 3f, soft), in the Cocked Hat Stakes, behind Lone Eagle, who has since finished second in the Irish Derby. Strong claims today.

Race 3 [2:25pm) PROJECT DANTE

Won on debut at York (5f, good to soft) back in May, before stepping up in class and placing third at Ascot (5f, good to firm) in the Norfolk Stakes, when just half a length behind the winner, having been denied a clear run that day. Step up to 6f offers further encouragement.

Race 4 3:00pm) **(BOOMSHALAA**

Two wins in four starts for this Roger Varian runner, sealing a double in his penultimate start at Windsor (6f, good) back in May. Stepped up to Class 2 company last time out, when second at Royal Ascot, when just a head behind Significantly last month. Up 3lbs today, but should have a huge opportunity this afternoon

Race 5 (3:35pm) SIR RON PRIESTLEY

Has seven victories in thirteen starts for Mark Johnston, with the last of those coming over C&D (1m 4f, good to firm), when 2.25 lengths clear of Pyledriver in a Group 2 contest. Has since finished third in the Yorkshire Cup at York and seventh in th Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, so needs to bounce back today. 3lbs higher than his rivals but a return to firmer ground should rejuvenate his form.

Race 6 (4:10pm) MAXIMAL

Only victory so far, came at Sandown (1m, good) back in September, but he has shown plenty of consistency since then, with a further couple of placed runs, including a second in the Dee Stakes at Chester (1m 2f, good to soft), when a length behind El Drama. Found the Group 1 -St James’s Palace Stakes a little too hot at Royal Ascot last month, with a return to listed company, more his level.
