Places available per race are subject to change, if fields reduce in size
Race 1 (1:45pm) DRAKE’S WELL
Has looked strong over the last month, bagging successive seconds at Stratford (2m 6f, soft) and Uttoxeter (2m 6f, good), before winning at Fontwell (2m 5f, good to firm), when crushing the field by 37 lengths, five days ago. Archie Bellamy claims 7lbs once again, as connections look to capitalise on current form, with a quick turnaround
Race 2 (2:20pm) DARANOVA
Thirteen race maiden, but has grabbed a few places here and there, including last time out over C&D (good) last month, when 2.75 lengths adrift of winner, Leith Hill Lad. Rises 2lbs today, but amongst a field of relatively average runners, a repeat of that latest run, could be enough to grab the spoils, with places at least expected here.
Race 3 (2:55pm) CHASAMAX
Ten race maiden for Nicky Henderson, who has placed in six of those runs. Finished second in his penultimate run at Huntingdon (1m 7f, good to soft) back in March, 3.75 lengths behind Kakamora, before struggling over 2m 3f at Warwick, when tailed off last month. Can be a frustrating runner for backers, but this looks to be his best chance in a while to finally get a win.
Race 4 (3:30pm) SAINT ARVANS
Two wins in eleven starts, with the last of those coming at Kelso (2m 5f, soft) in December. Has since been consistent over three runs, with a third last time out at Perth (2m 4f, soft) in a Class 3 contest, three weeks ago. Has ran well in a tongue-tie the last couple of times and that is retained today, with another strong run expected this afternoon.
Race 5 (4:05pm) AS HIGH SAY
Comes in looking for a hat-trick, having won at Newton Abbot (2m 2f, good) last month and Southwell (2m 4f, good to soft) nine days ago, when 4.5 lengths clear of Found On. Now goes chasing off that same winning mark and it’s difficult to see any reason for this talented mare to have any issues here.
Race 6 (4:40pm) FIRST DU CHARMIL
Twelve race maiden, who has shown consistency, without really threatening that often. However, a fifth of twelve, over C&D (good to soft) nineteen days ago, saw them just 4 lengths off the winner, Profile Picture. Should not have an issue with firmer ground, but may find this a little tougher than the market suggests.
