All races are offering three places
Race 1 (1:45pm) SANTOSHA
Made an impressive debut in a Class 5 at Lingfield in June, (6f, good to firm), before stepping up to Group 2 level, when a 50/1 third in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes (6f, soft) at Newmarket in July. Followed up sixteen days later with even more improvement, taking the spoils in the Group 3, Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot, winning by 0.75 lengths on good ground. She has already beaten Hala Hala Hala in that last race and there is no reason to suggest, she won’t do so again.
Race 2 (2:15pm) TINICHIO
Won at Hamilton in a Class 5 at the end of June (5f, good to soft), taking the victory by a comfortable 3 lengths, before stepping up to a Class 2 at Newbury (5f, good) and finishing fourth, 4.5 lengths behind Happy Romance. Comes into the race some 7lbs better off, which will no doubt help and Kevin Stott continues onboard.
Alternative Selection: LINE OF DEPARTURE
Race 3 (2:45pm) SIR BUSTER
Returned to action in June, with successive Class 2 victories at Newcastle (1m, all-weather) and Ascot (1m, good). Finished second to Motakhayyel in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket, but the 7f trip looked a little short. Struggled on latest, when ninth in the Golden Mile at Goodwood, although he was unable to get a clear run, until it was too late. Minor concern over the 7f and will appreciate any further rain.
Alternative Selection: DOCUMENTING
Race 4 (3:15pm) LOVE
Has won five of nine career starts, along with three places for AIdan O’Brien and comes in looking for a hat-trick, having won the 1000 Guineas in style at Newmarket, beating Cloak Of Spirits by 4.25 lengths and then going on to smash the opposition by nine lengths in the Investec Oaks. Four of the victories have come on good ground and with similar expected, she is an easy selection to make.
Race 5 (3:45pm) GOLD WAND
Finished second on debut in a Class 5 back in October and returned to action, when last but one in the Investec Oaks, some 34 lengths adrift of Love, in only start over 1m 4f. Arguably needed the fitness there and found a big improvement on her latest, when second at this venue, in the listed Lyric Fillies’ Stakes (good to firm). Returns to 1m 4f here and has strong hopes in an open contest.
Race 6 (4:20pm) MARK OF THE MAN
Comes into this race looking for a hat-trick, having followed a Class 5 win at Chepstow (7f, good), with victory in a Class 2 at Goodwood, as a 12/1 shot (7f, good), when beating Monza City by 2 lengths. Rises 3lbs but that shouldn’t make much of a difference to his chances in fairness, especially if staying on well, as he has done before.
