The opening race of the day eases Jackpot players in, with just seven runners involved in this 1m 3f Novices Stakes. Casual Reply is the GG pick here, with the Frankel filly offering some good early promise after finishing second here on debut and at Chelmsford last month. Has a twelve pound advantage over the favourite and more is expected of this exciting prospect.
The next race is a Class 4 Novices Stakes, with fourteen runners taking on the 1m trip. Book Review is the next GG choice and main threat to the favourite, in what looks to be a straight two-way fight. A debut second at Nottingham offered plenty of positives a few weeks back, staying on well in heavy conditions. WIll improve further, but will be interesting to see how they progress on this surface.
Laser Show is favourite and the RPR leader, winning by a neck on debut at Sandown ahead of odds on favourite Riot in that race. Little is expected to challenge these two, although Hukum may put themselves in the mix, if they can improve further.
The midway point of this Jackpot is a Class 3 Handicap over 1m , with fourteen entries. The next GG pick is Ouzo who is the second favourite for the race. A real class act that won three on the bounce in the Summer and finished fourth at Newmarket after a four month lay-off at the beginning of this month. Arguably has potential for more improvement, but it will be interesting to see if he can translate that form onto the all-weather.
Montatham is favourite and has won two in a row back in August. Since then they have finished third at Yarmouth, along with a second at Musselburgh most recently. Bear Force One is another huge threat and goes looking for a three-timer.
The fourth race is a 7f sprint, with thirteen runners taking on this Class 4 Handicap. Mendoza is the GG pick here and goes looking for a second successive victory, having won over course and distance three weeks ago. Elevates in class for this one and has a poor draw, but if can find more, can easily be in the hunt for the win.
OR leader Kwela is also favourite to take the victory and goes looking for a third straight success in a row here, having won over six furlongs, and last time out over course and distance. One Cool Daddy and Self Assessment are both respected.
The penultimate race is a 1m 2f Class 2 Handicap, with Emirates Knight the GG pick among the fourteen entries. Despite being a bit of an outsider in the market, the horse did pick up a course and distance victory back in August, making all the running that day. Picked up a third and eleventh since then and if they can replicate that August run, have a genuine chance of putting in a challenge.
Good Tidings and Creationist are joint favourites, with the former arguably in the better form of late, while Just The Man and The Pinto Kid are likely to feature in a very open race and tough one for Jackpot players to pick through.
The final leg of the Jackpot is an eleven runner Class 4 Handicap over 1m 7f. Pirate King is the last GG choice here, with the single victory in nine career starts coming back in May at Doncaster over 1m 3f. Has picked up a couple of places since then, but the longer trio today, may be on the edge of his range.
Past Master goes in as favourite for the race and picked up the win at Goodwood recently, before a fourth at Yarmouth last time out. Casa Comigo leads the rest of the field and can offer a big threat here too.
