track-bias-diary-v2At a massive price, I can’t resist a small interest on MUNTADAB (stall 11 of 20) in the 6f Racing Post/SIS Betting Shop Manager Handicap at Doncaster today (3.45).

The four-year-old was added to my GG Alerts after his eyecatching effort in the Ayr Silver Cup last month. He was only 12th of the 25 runners but was badly drawn in stall 20 and fared best of the quartet to race up the stands’ side, beating the other three by at least 14 lengths and finishing just over 4l behind the winner. Some of the other badly berthed runners from that race have done well since – Blaine, 14th from stall 18, ran second by a short head at 33-1, Intisaab, 11th from stall 13, placed at 28-1 at Ascot before a 14-1 York win, and George Bowen, 15th from stall 16, just missed out on a place when 25-1 in a huge field at York.

Muntadab himself trailed home last of 13 in a 7f handicap back at Ayr next time but was drawn out of it in stall 12 on a day when low numbers were massively favoured. He has yet to score over today’s 6f trip but has plenty of form on straight tracks and won on his only previous visit to Doncaster.
