track-bias-diary-v2 Silvestre De Sousa has a particular affinity with the 7f trip at Kempton, scoring winning on 31 of his 126 rides over course and distance for a profit of £83.81 to a £1 level stake at SP. He did well to steer UBLA (stall 2 of 14) into a 20-1 fourth from stall 13 of 13 here last time and the pair are much better-berthed in the 32Red Casino Handicap over the same trip and track tonight (8.40).

It’s important to be drawn low in big-field 7f handicaps at this venue, especially when the Polytrack has been watered to produce a standard-to-slow surface as it has been tonight. 20 of the 27 course and distance handicap winners this year came from the bottom five stalls and in fields of 12 or more runners seven of the 14 winners were drawn 1, 2 or 3.

Last time, Ubla was initially dropped in from a wide draw but was then switched back out wide and charged down the outside to just miss out on a place. Hopefully, De Sousa will have him closer to the pace tonight.

Backing Chris Wall-trained runners on their second run back after a break is a profitable angle and HACKNEY ROAD (stall 2 of 7) can be expected to improve for her seasonal and stable debut when eighth of 16 at Doncaster last month. Summerghand, the winner of that race, has gone in again since at Haydock and is now rated 11lb higher and Hackney Road would have been closer had she not met trouble over a furlong out. She won three times from just nine starts for other yards and her record in all-weather handicaps when running off a mark of 75 or less, as she does today, reads 1212 (2-4). Two of her three wins came at Kempton and it looks significant that she heads back here for the 6f fillies' handicap on her second run of the current campaign (8.10). She should get a decent pace to chase courtesy of recent Wolverhampton winner Krystallite, who is likely to struggle as she's 0-17 away from Dunstall park.

HACKNEY ROAD – Kempton 8.10 (2pts win, 11-4 generally)

UBLA – Kempton 8.40 (1pt each-way, 9-2 generally)
