Thursday’s ToteScoop 6 once again features five races from day two of the Ebor meetings at York, along with a Handicap Chase over in Stratford, just to shake things up a little for punters. Four of those are over seven furlongs or less, while three races host at least eighteen runners. Check out who the favourites are in the betting, along with the GG selection for each, below:

All races at York, unless stated
The opening race is a Group 2 sprint over six furlongs, featuring ten runners. However this looks a relatively straightforward selection for backers here, with Liberty Beach the clear favourite to take the win, having won their last two outings at Sandown and Goodwood’s Molcombe Stakes.
Under The Stars who won the Keeneland Stakes to make it two wins from two career starts and Wejdan who ran on well to win at Newbury on debut a fortnight ago, offer the most likely threat to victory for the favourite,
The next race is another six furlong battle, with a field of twenty-one runners to pick through. The top five in the betting look likely to provide the winner here, with less than three points separating. Favourite and GG selection is Mums Tipple, who impressed when winning on debut in a class two Maiden at Ascot, a month ago.
Fleeting Prince won their opening two career starts, but will be looking to bounce back after a struggle in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood in tougher company, while OR and RPR leader Show Me Show Me has placed well in recent starts and was unlucky, when losing by a head in the Super Sprint Stakes at Newbury. Raahy and Rayong are the outsiders of the five, but both have plenty of ability to put themselves in the mix for the spoils, in what is a tough call for Scoop 6 players.
For the third race, we head to Shakespeare’s birthplace for a Handicap Chase over two miles and hosting seventeen runners. The clear favourite is Meldrum Lad who after a lengthy absence won several point races, before picking up a win at this very track back in May.
From the rest of the field, three runners look to be in with a chance here, with the shortening Poker School who is in a rich vein of form, with a win and three places in their last four starts looking to continue the run. Topofthecotswolds is the OR and RPR leader in the field and won here last time out over the extended two mile and three trip, while GG selection Pink Eyed Pedro won twice at Worcester and Ffos Las, before a second last time out at the same Irish track, last time.

The second half of this Scoop 6 returns to the Knavesmire, for a seven furlong journey, as eighteen take on this class two outing. Kynren is the clear favourite here and despite being without a win since 2017, their form has been strong as they have risen up the classes, finishing second in the Lincoln at Doncaster and the Victoria Cup at Ascot, with a fifth in the Royal Hunt Cup last time out.
There are easily seven or eight runners with genuine hopes here, with Qaysar in the best form arguably, thanks to wins at Newbury and Newmarket in their last two outings. The GG selection is Vale Of Kent, who won the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket and finished a strong second to Beat Le Bon in the Golden Mile at Goodwood last time out.
For the penultimate race, we have a smaller field of eleven runners taking on a mile and three furlong trip, in this class one outing. Joint RPR Search For A Song is the strong favourite here, thanks a debut win and strong performances at Naas and their last run at Curragh, although they would arguably like a little give in the ground.
Vivionn picked up great results, including two wins in class three outings a few months back and the step up to class two, saw a second place at Goodwood last time out. OR and TS leader Frankelina is another who is expected to go well, having finished third in a class one at York last time out. The GG selection is relative outsider Hameem, who not only shares the RPR ranking, but bagged a class three win at Kempton last time out, in an impressive five length victory.
The final race is a class two outing, over six furlongs and featuring a field of twenty runners. Although the idea of a twenty runner decider for the Scoop 6 looks the stuff of nightmares, this should be a two horse battle, between favourite Salayel and GG selection Mubtasimah, while Whitefountainfairy is the best of the rest.
Salayel has won over six furlongs when racing in the UAE, while also performing well over a mile. Since being trained in the UK, their one start saw them lose by a head at Newmarket in a class two trip. Mubtasimah has won their last three outings, albeit at lower levels, with the most recent, a class three victory at Newmarket. They give up four pounds to the favourite, so an improvement may well be needed in what should be a great tussle between this pair.
