Martin Pipe Entries 2025: 82 horses entered for Cheltenham Festival finale

|Galopin Des Champs ridden by Sean O'Keeffe clears the last fence on their way to winning the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle during day four of the Cheltenham Festival.||

A traditional curtain-closer on the Cheltenham Festival, the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle has often thrown up some stars of the future and none more so than dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs. We take a look at the 82 horses entered for the 2025 race, which will be run at 5:20pm on Friday 14th March.

Gordon Elliott’s Wodhooh was last seen downing subsequent William Hill Hurdle winner Joyeuse in a hugely competitive Cheltenham handicap contest back in December and with fourth that day Royale Margaux going on to win in Graded company then it’s no shock to see the Cullentra House inmate towards the top of the betting for the Martin Pipe.

The Emmet Mullins-trained McLaurey was an eye-catching winner at Leopardstown last time out and that listed win is decent form and that improver could be another leading contender for Ireland, while Kala Conti won a decent race at Down Royal earlier in the season and adds more depth to the charge.

Willie Mullins and JP McManus could team up with new French recruit Kopeck De Mee, who has been extremely popular in the ante-post betting in recent days, while Highwind could be another decent performer for the master of Closutton.

Joseph O’Brien’s Comfort Zone was an eye-catching third in a cracking handicap hurdle contest last time out and he could be another that dons the green and gold of McManus in this finale. Hamsiyann was victorious at Cheltenham two starts ago for Tony Martin, while the Emmet Mullins-trained Vischio could be another that makes up part of a strong Irish contingent.

Nicky Henderson will look to end the meeting on a high and East India Express and Aston Martini have shown a decent level of form over hurdles and could take their chance, while 2023 runner-up No Ordinary Joe will be looking to go one better in the 2025 race.

Sa Fureur has a number of Cheltenham Festival entries for Gordon Elliott and will be a player, if lining up here, while the likes of Farren Glory and Minella Sixo are just another brace of runners that stand out from the bumper list of entries.
