Sam Curling’s Angels Dawn knows what it takes to win at the meeting having won the 2023 Kim Muir Handicap Chase and while he was a faller in that same race 12 months ago, he’s set to line up to try and claim victory in the 2025 Hunters Chase.

The Emmet Mullins-trained Its On The Line has hit the crossbar on his last two visits to the Cheltenham Festival as having finished second to Premier Magic in the 2023 Hunters Chase, the JP McManus-owned raider then had to settle for the silver medal once again when finishing second to Sine Nomine in last year’s contest. Back for another crack at the staying contest, the eight-year-old is unsurprisingly a prominent figure in a wide open betting heat.

An impressive winner of a Thurles hunter chase back in January, Willitgoahead is another leading contender for the Irish, who should have a strong battalion heading into the contest, but the home brigade will have some decent shots to fire and the likes of former Grade 2 Old Roan Chase winner Allmankind and the Paul Nicholls-trained Shearer will be two of those flying the flag for the home team.

Another eye-catching entry and potential improver is Ryehill, who was a winner at Naas on his last outing, while the likes of Priory Park and Fairly Famous could be another brace of contenders that take their chance in what looks a hugely competitive renewal.
