Gary Moore has enjoyed a fine start to 2022, particularly with his all-weather runners, where his horses have produced form figures of 014122 – those winners coming at odds of 10/1 and 12/1! He has three entrants across the cards at Lingfield and Kempton on Wednesday and we have assessed their chances below, which are backable via Sky Bet’s bet £5 get £20 free bets promotion.
SEMSER - (3:35pm Lingfield, Play 4 To Win At Betway Handicap) 7/4
Gary Moore’s sole runner on Lingfield’s Wednesday card comes in their concluding 1m2f handicap, where he sends across the 5yo SEMSER.
This son of Siyouni has proven revitalised for the addition of cheekpieces of late, building on a Wolverhampton third when justifying favouritism over 1m4f here last time out.
That came in a hands and heels apprentice handicap, yet Shane Kelly takes over now Semser is back in a regular handicap and the pound rise received for that latest victory looks far from insurmountable.
With his regular headgear retained, and this drop-in trip no obvious negative, Semser looks primed to follow up here.
THINK TRIGGER - (4:30pm Kempton, Join Racing TV Now Handicap) 3/1
The first division of this 1m Class 6 handicap sees the first of Gary Moore’s two runners on the Kempton card – namely, THINK TRIGGER a 4yo that runs in the blue and white Simon Lockyer silks.
Related to a number of all-weather winners, Think Trigger produced consistent RPR figures of 53, 52 and 54 in three starts in novice/maiden company on the all-weather last year.
Handicaps were always likely to be where this gelding’s future ultimately lay, and he kicks off life in this sphere off a mark of just 57, with Rhys Clutterbuck removing a further 3lb.
The market should be informative regarding expectations here, but those RPR’s don’t give Think Trigger an awful lot to find to prove too much for this field.
CAPRICORN PRINCE - (7:00pm Kempton, Follow @racingtv On Twitter Classified Stakes) 7/1
The last of Gary Moore’s trio of Wednesday runners comes in the shape of CAPRICORN PRINCE, who claimed his fourth all-weather victory when going in at Lingfield last week.
That victory came at classified stakes level, which Capricorn Prince sticks at here, with an imminent 2lb rise about to force him out of this race classification.
Although a penalty makes life tough, Rhys Clutterbuck helps to negate that weight burden and it’s notable that the return to Kempton won’t inconvenience this previous course and distance winner – who is also well berthed in stall 5.
