Queen Anne Stakes Runners 2025: Rosallion & Dancing Gemini Feature Among 10 Declared For Royal Ascot Group 1

Richard Hannon’s Rosallion and Roger Teal’s Dancing Gemini are two of the star names featuring in the list of 10 potential runners for the 2025 Queen Anne Stakes, which is the traditional curtain-raiser to Royal Ascot and is run at 2:30pm on Tuesday 17th June.

Second in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last season, Rosallion then went one better in the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh before going on to storm to victory in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He failed to kick off his campaign this year with a win as he finished third in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, but a return to Ascot should see him improve significantly and he’s certainly one of the leading contenders.

Dancing Gemini finished just ahead of Rosallion in that aforementioned Lockinge Stakes and was also a winner of the bet365 Mile at Sandown Park at the start of the year and is another in-form miler aiming to sparkle here. John & Thady Gosden trained Palace Pier to victory in this race four years ago and they are set to unleash Lead Artist who shocked both Rosallion and Dancing Gemini in the Lockinge Stakes. Propelling on to the Group 1 one mile scene with a victory that day at Newbury, the four-year-old will be looking to build on that effort here and frank the form.

Charlie Appleby’s Notable Speech got the better of Rosallion when the pair met in the Guineas at the start of last season, but could only finish fourth in the Lockinge Stakes last time out, so is looking to improve on that effort here.

Aidan O’Brien has trained the winner of this event on four separate occasions and he could saddle Diego Velazquez, while the Gosden team could have another major runner in the shape of Sardinian Warrior, who launched into the picture when winning the Listed Paradise Stakes over course and distance earlier in the season, and is one of the races regarded as trial for this event.

Lake Forest, Qudwaah, Docklands and Cairo add yet more depth to a wide open contest will ignite another spectacular five-day Flat festival at the Berkshire venue.
