Leg 1: 1.50pm

Leg 1 Selections: (2) Struth (3) Westerton

The Johnston yard have a fantastic record in this race, including winning three of the last nine renewals, so the first one to go in the placepot is STRUTH, who went close at Ascot last month and will appreciate the give in the ground. He looks a solid prospect and it’s difficult to see him finishing out of the places.

The other runner I’m going to include is WESTERTON, who has the services of the red-hot Ryan Moore on board. He was staying on strongly when finishing third at Newmarket last month, and the step up in trip should suit. I expect him to be thereabouts at the finish and he looks a good option for the placepot.

Leg 2: 2.25pm

Leg 2 Selections: (8) Breege (14) Olivia Maralda

It’s worth noting that five of the last seven renewals have been won by runners from stalls 1-3, so it might pay to side with those drawn low. First up is BREEGE, who finished a good runner-up in the Sandringham Stakes and was runner-up in the Prestige Fillies’ Stakes on his sole previous outing at Goodwood last year. She drops back in trip here, but I expect her to go close and can’t see her finishing out of the top four.

Three-year-olds have won five of the last ten renewals so I’m keen to side with another 3YO, and that’s OLIVIA MARALDA. She wasn’t disgraced in the 1000 Guineas on seasonal reappearance, before dropping back to this trip to win the Surrey Stakes, with recent Listed winner Holguin well beaten. She then finished fifth in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, doing best of those drawn in double-figures. I fully expect her to run well here and although she’s drawn higher than ideal, I think she’s a cracking E/W bet.

Leg 3: 3.00pm

Leg 3 Selections: (5) Kylian (7) Purosangue

The obvious starting point is Karl Burke’s KYLIAN, who bolted up in Listed company last time out, running out an easy six-length winner that day. Ryan Moore is booked again for the ride and it would be a shock to see him out of the top three.

The other one I think is worth adding is Andrew Balding’s PUROSANGUE, who was an impressive winner over this trip on debut, before finding the step up in trip and class too much next time out. Back in calmer waters and dropping back in trip can see him go close.

Leg 4: 3.35pm

Leg 4 Selections: (6) Paddington

It would be a huge shock if Paddington wasn’t in the top two here, having won his last three Group 1’s in impressive fashion. He receives weight for his age allowance from all but one of his rivals here, and I think he’s as solid as they come. The drop back to a mile trip will be a boost if anything, and Ryan Moore can steer him a to a fourth successive Group 1 victory.

Leg 5: 4.10pm

Leg 5 Selections: (3) Dapperling (1) Beenham

I was keen on Juniper Berries last time out in the Super Sprint, but she disappointed that day and I’m not convinced she’ll do any better here. I like the form of that Super Sprint race though, and it’s the runner-up DAPPERLING who catches my eye in here. Having only finished outside the top two once (which was on debut), she looks a suitable option to add in to the placepot.

The other one I’m siding with the sixth home in the Super Sprint – Rod Millman’s BEENHAM. She had Superlative Stakes runner-up Haatem well beaten in third when recording her sole victory, which conveniently came over C&D. Richard Kingscote steered her to victory that day and he’s back on board here, so I’m hoping she can return to form here and finish in the places.

Leg 6: 4.45PM

Leg 6 Selections: (10) Decoration (5) Value Added

Frankel filly DECORATION should prove tough to beat here, and I’d be shocked to see her finish out of the top three, so she has to be one of the picks. She was good value for her win at Windsor last month, where she has Value Added back in second and meets her on better terms here.

With that being said, VALUE ADDED seems to be getting better with each run and she’s the other one I want to side with. She made all to win at Wolverhampton last time out, where Queen Regent was unable to catch her, and the Royal runner could prove tough to catch again if given an easy lead. It’s doubtful she’ll be able to dictate this race in the same manner, but she’ll no doubt give it a good go and is capable of holding on to a place at least.

Leg 5 Selections: (3) Dapperling (1) Beenham
