All races are offering three places, unless stated
Race 1 (1:15pm) LA TRINIDAD
Picked up a double back in June, (7f - 1m) on good and good to firm ground, with a rise in grade taken in his stride so far, finishing third in a Class 4 at York (7f, good to firm) and most recently, third in a Class 2 contest over the same C&D three weeks ago. Step up to a mile won’t be an issue, having won at this distance, but may find a stiffer test in terms of competition. Likely to be in the mix, come the closing stages.
Race 2 (1:50pm) CHINDIT
Cracking start to his career so far, winning a Class 5 on debut, over C&D in July, before stepping up to listed company, when winning the Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot (7f, good to firm). Conditions look likely to suit and this looks a straight fight between him and Albasheer for the spoils.
Race 3 (2:25pm) ARECIBO
One win in twenty-one starts doesn’t bode well, but he usually gives a good account of himself, as shown in eight placed finishes so far. Has finished 5442 in the last four trips, with the second at Sandown (5f, soft) last time out, seeing them 6.5 lengths behind the clear winner, Aljady. WIll be happy if the ground firms up further and should go close.
Alternative Selection: Danzeno
Race 4 (3:00pm) MOLATHAM
Won the listed, Flying Scotsman Stakes at this meeting, a year ago and has gone on to take the Group 3 - Jersey Stakes at Ascot (7f, soft) in June. He followed up with an attempt at Group 1 level, when fifth in the Prix Jean Prat at Deauville (7f, good), finishing 4.75 lengths behind Pinatubo. He comes into this race fresh from a break and has the ability to take the victory.
Race 5 (3:35pm) PYLEDRIVER
Winner of the King Edward VII Stakes at Ascot in June, and subsequently the Great Voltigeur at York last month. Has one Group 1 attempt to his name, when disappointing in the Derby at Epsom, but William Muir’s charge can continue the progress and grab a victory, although it looks a tough contest, with Santiago and Hukum also set to feature.
Race 6 (4:05pm) LONE EAGLE
Strong on debut, when second in a Class 5 at Sandown (1m, good to firm) last month, before progressing nicely, to take the spoils in a Class 4 at Goodwood (1m, soft), when justifying strong odds on status. Silvestre De Sousa rides for the first time and despite another rise in grade for this Class 2 contest, he should progress further still.
