Airlie Beach Airlie Beach could bid to get her season back on track at Fairyhouse after she failed to fire at the Cheltenham Festival.

The daughter of Shantou brought an unbeaten record to Prestbury Park having won each of her seven previous starts, including the Grade One Royal Bond at Fairyhouse in December.

The seven-year-old was sent off second favourite for the Trull House Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle, but having helped set a strong pace, she weakened quickly from the home turn and beat just one other finisher, with stablemate Let's Dance running out an impressive winner.

Steve Massey, racing manager for her owners the Supreme Horse Racing Club, is hoping Airlie Beach can bounce back in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final on Easter Sunday.

He said: "She was a little bit buzzed up beforehand, then another horse (La Bague Au Roi) took her on for the lead and she didn't settle at all.

"She didn't run her race at all on the day. We think she's better than that and hopefully she'll bounce back and show her true self.

"I think the race at Fairyhouse is probably where she'll go next, but we'll see how she is nearer the time."
