NewmarketTop tipster Andrew Mount has four bets at Newbury, Newmarket and York on a busy Friday

MASKED IDENTITY – (1.35 Newmarket, 1.5pt each-way - 17/2)

The stalls, far side at Newmarket yesterday, have been moved to the stands’ side and MASKED IDENTITY looks well drawn in stall 12 of 13 if the ‘golden highway’ is in operation. Shaun Keightley’s six-year-old failed to win on the all-weather over the winter but the return to turf can spark a revival.

His full record on straight courses stands at 22125 (1-5), with the latest defeat in a field of 19 at Doncaster. He’s 3lb lower than when narrowly beaten narrowly on heavy ground last October and it will be disappointing if he isn’t in the frame.

BARBILL – (2.25 Newbury, 2pts - 7/2)

BARBILL is best in small fields – four of his five wins have come in fields of ten or less, the other in a split field at the Curragh where he raced with just a handful of rivals. He was a little unlucky to bump into a gambled-on stable debutant in the shape of Great Ambassador when an 11-1 second of seven at Kempton last time, taking his record in fields of ten or less since gelded to 112 (2-3). Slow turf suits, his trainer is in good form and he should get a good tow into the race from May Sonic, Beyond Equal and Major Jumbo.

FISHABLE – (2.40 York, 1pt each-way - 9/1)

Tim Easterby’s FISHABLE made a pleasing return to action after being gelded when a two-length fourth at Ripon last month, doing well to finish so close after getting warm in the preliminaries and racing keenly with no cover away from the favoured rail.

That took his record over trips of about 1m2f to 1124 (2-4), including a course and distance second of 14 on soft ground last October. HIs yard has a great record with runners having their second start after being gelded, the cheekpieces are added to the tongue-tie and he should get a good tow into the race from stablemate Sameem, assuming he adopts his usual forcing tactics on his first start since leaving James Tate.

HEY MR – (4.15 York, 1.5pt win - 7/2)

Tweet Tweet is solid enough at the head of the market – I thought he probably won against the draw bias at Thirsk last time – but stall 12 of 13 could prove troublesome and I prefer the claims of HEY MR (stall 2).

He ran a huge race to finish second to Imperium Blue in a nursery over the slightly longer 5f89y trip here last October, going down by a length from stall 10 of 10 (four of the first five home were drawn 1, 2, 3 and 4). He went on to reverse the form with the winner at Nottingham next time and the badly-drawn runners in sixth, eighth and ninth all won shortly after. He’s open to improvement at this trip and looks well drawn down the middle.
