Top tipster Andrew Mount has a mixed bag of all-weather and jumps bets across three meetings on Monday

There was a very strong bias towards the inside rail at Southwell yesterday, with the handicap winners drawn 2, 3, 2, 1, 2 and 2. The forecast strong crosswind could also make life tricky for those drawn high and I like the chances of a couple of outsiders in the 5f Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Handicap (1.25).

LA CHICA LOBO (stall 1) is bred to appreciate Fibresand and clocked a good time when a 50-1 fifth (beaten by about two lengths) in a 5f Catterick maiden on her penultimate start. She could never strike a blow on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time, finishing a 28-1 eighth of 11, but the early pace held up in that race and she actually did third best of the closers. The subsequent 102-day break is a concern but there’s compensation in the price.

SECRET IDENTITY (stall 2) represents a sire (Equiano) with a good recent record on Fibresand and she too could appreciate the switch to this surface for the first time. The 7f trip was too far when she was down the field at Wolverhampton on her stable debut last time.

FLIGHT TO MILAN (1.35 Lingfield)

FLIGHT TO MILAN jumped out to his left when just touch off at Leicester last time and will appreciate the return to a left-handed track in the 2m4f Eden Utilities Novices’ Handicap Chase (1.35) at Lingfield. The downside is his 0-17 career record but the cheekpieces could eke out some improvement and he’s worth a small bet. When [Evan Williams]() uses first-time cheekpieces in a novices’ handicap chase his record is 15P111 (4-6), with the wins at 14-1, 10-1, 6-1 and 9-2. He’s two from two at Lingfield under these conditions (14-1 and 9-2).

AGUEROOO (5.20 Wolverhampton)

AGUEROOO has het to win at Wolverhampton but he’s run several good races in defeat here, including a short head second in a 6f Class 5 handicap in March of last year. He’s 7lb lower over the same course and distance in the Class 6 Betway Handicap (5.20) this evening, he’s well drawn in stall 5 of 12 (adjusted for the non-runner) and his come-from-behind style could be an advantage given the ‘dead’ rail at recent meetings (front runners who race on the inside have been getting picked up by those challenging wide). The forecast strong winds could also play a role here and he should be able to get cover.

La Chica Lobo – 1pt win – Southwell 1.25 (40-1 generally)

Secret Identity – 0.5pt win – Southwell 1.25 (33-1 generally)

Flight To Milan – 1pt win – 1.35 Lingfield (3-1 generally)

Aguerooo – 1pt each-way – 5.20 Wolverhampton (12-1 bet365)
