Top tipster Andrew Mount was among the winner again on Sunday and has two selections on Monday
WINTER POWER (12.35 Redcar, 1pt win)
WINTER POWER was too green to do herself justice despite starting as the 13-8 favourite at Newcastle on her debut, swerving right as the stalls opened and proving unable to make up the ground on a track that was strongly favouring prominent types. She was sent off as the 4-6 favourite at Wolverhampton next time but Silvestre De Sousa gunned her straight into the lead against the ‘dead’ rail and she was hemmed in on the inside by Jojo Rabbit, a winner at Wolverhampton again yesterday. The switch to turf and handicap company can see her in a better light in Redcar’s opener.
INCA GOLD (1.25 Market Rasen, 1pt win)
Owner J P McManus is renowned for success at the big festivals but he has a great record with his low-grade jumps handicappers in Britain, with 81 winners from 359 runners in Class 5 company this century (22.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £94.97 to a £1 level stake at SP. Lake Baikal was a 5-1 winner on this system at Uttoxeter last week and it could be worth chancing Ben Haslam’s INCA GOLD in this 2m1f handicap chase. He would have needed his comeback run when tailed off in Class 4 company at Uttoxeter and will appreciate the drop to this grade for the first time. He’s yet to win for current connections but was in the process of running a good race at Sedgefield last November before falling two out and is 7lb lower today.
