EtonianTop tipster Andrew Mount has just one bet at the Curragh on Bank Holiday Monday.

MORNING APPROACH (3.45 Curragh, 1pt win 12/1)

The prospect of rain and very strong winds makes punting very difficult today but MORNING APPROACH looks worth a small interest in this 7f handicap.

A winner at Dundalk on her debut in December, she had little chance against the very strong track bias at Limerick on last month’s reappearance. The track was massively favouring low-drawn prominent racers that day and the first three were drawn 5 (‘made all’), 1 and 2 of 12.

Morning Approach had the worst of the draw in stall 12 (once adjusted for several non-runners) and was given a patient ride. She was beaten by a little over five lengths into eighth place but it was still a solid effort in the circumstances.

Connections also reported that she didn’t come down the hill or appreciate the fast ground, so today’s conditions could be much more to her liking. Her high draw could protect her from the forecast strong crosswind.
