Our top tipster has a huge number of stats at his disposal and has highlighted the horses it should pay to follow in Britain today.
RAMSES DE TEILLEE (1.50 Cheltenham)
RAMSES DE TEILLEE won well over hurdles at Cheltenham last month on his return to action and that will have put him spot on for the 3m3f BetVictor Smartcards Handicap Chase (1.50). Most recent winners of this stamina-sapping contest were race fit and younger horses gave traditionally done well, with those aged eight or younger landing nine of the last ten renewals.
Since 2009, backing those aged five to eight who had raced within the past 45 days would have found seven winners from 45 bets (15.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £36.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s one of only two in the race who fit the age profile and he has the class to defy top weight.
SPIRITOFTHEGAMES (2.25 Cheltenham)
Dan Skelton is on record as saying that SPIRITOFTHEGAMES is “very good fresh” and that’s certainly backed up by seasonal debut figures (including his point-to-point run) of 1111 (4-4). Outside of his seasonal debuts his record reads 42123574335 (1-11), with the sole win when evens favourite at Taunton in March 2017 on his first start for 66 days. He disappointed at Aintree when last seen but that came on the back of a recent outing (21 days) and he’s likely to be a different proposition on his first start since wind surgery when he reappears in the BetVictor Gold Cup Handicap Chase (2.25).
LEODIS DREAM (3.15 Lingfield)
David O’Meara and Adam Kirby have a good record when joining forces on Lingfield’s Polytrack, scoring with six of the 27 qualifiers (22.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £9.85 to a £1 level stake at SP. Thirteen of the 21 beaten horses finished second or third and LEODIS DREAM (stall six of 12) looks solid each-way material in the 6f Betway Golden Rose Stakes (3.15). He’s well drawn to track likely pacesetter Gifted Master (stall eight) and can be forgiven his defeat in Group 3 company at Dundalk last time as he was always wide than ideal. He’s yet to race beyond the minimum trip but is sire is five from 33 over course and distance (15.2%) for a profit of £44.50 to a £1 level stake at SP.
