Hopeful that the weather doesn't effect proceedings, top tipster Andrew Mount has three selections to back on Sunday
MOONRAKER (3.40 Southwell)
There’s plenty of early pace in the 5f Betway Handicap at Southwell (3.40) and the race could be set up for a low-drawn stalker who can get cover from the forecast strong crosswind. MOONRAKER (stall 2 of 6) ran poorly over course and distance last time but raced on the slowest part of the track and has been freshened up since. He can bounce back here.
The wind could play havoc with Sunday’s racing but if Exeter does go ahead ATLANTA ABLAZE could provide a spot of value to overturn odds-on favourite Magic Of Light. The latter has been beaten at evens and 6-5 on the two occasions she swapped hurdles for fences and Atlanta Ablaze has always gone well in small fields, recording form figures of 14F253131U114 (5-13) when faced with six or fewer rivals. She won this race last season and has had wind surgery since her latest outing.
JUST NORMAN (Southwell 4.45)
JUST NORMAN showed ability on his second start at two and is worth chancing on his three-year-old debut in the 1m Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Handicap (4.45). That second juvenile outing came when a 66-1 fifth in a Nottingham maiden and it has worked out well – the winner is now rated 86, the third currently runs of a mark of 82, the fourth is rated 75 and the sixth won at Newcastle last month and now runs off 72 (the runner-up has yet to qualify for a handicap mark). Just Norman struggled the next twice but was 66-1 for a Newmarket novice and had a terrible draw when a 50-1 tenth of 15 in first-time blinkers on his nursery debut at Leicester. He runs off just 58 here and if he’s strengthened up and improved over the winter he could be very well handicapped.
