Top tipster Andrew Mount has two selections and an each-way double for Sunday’s racing

BLAZON (2.05 Haydock)

The early market for the 1m6f Betway Casino Apprentice Handicap is headed by Wanaasah who was gifted an easy lead when hacking up over two miles in a similar race here last week. My guess, is that they’ll go too quick here as there are other pace angles in the race and the apprentice riders will be concerned about giving the overnight favourite too much rope. The one to benefit could be Kim Bailey’s BLAZON, who usually comes from well off the pace. He disappointed over jumps last time but has won three of his six starts in all-weather handicaps and his record in December, January or February, under either code, reads 1111 (4-4) for a profit of £25.00 to a £1 level stake at SP.

STAR ASCENDING (4.10 Wolverhampton)

STAR ASCENDING also has a strong seasonal pattern to his form and can be supported in the 1m4f Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap (4.10). He just missed out on a place over 9.4f here last time and has won nine of his 24 starts between January and April for a profit of £30.17 to a £1 level stake. He won this race 12 months ago and is 2lb lower this time around. I’m also going to play him in an each-way double with Blazon.
