Top tipster Andrew Mount was among the winners at Cheltenham on Saturday and bids to keep the ball rolling with bets at Fontwell and Navan on Sunday
PROJECT MARS hasn’t been seen since running 11th of 14 at Fontwell 627 days ago for Nick Gifford but the eight-year-old looks worth an interest at the same venue when he makes his debut for in-form Fergal O’Brien. His new handler does well with ‘switchers’ (horses he takes over from other yards) at the first time of asking, scoring with 30 of the 165 qualifiers since 2010 (18.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £50.02 to a £1 level stake at SP. Project Mars is a 12-race maiden but he finished a close second off marks of 97 and 99 here for his old yard and should be competitive off 95 today.
SPYGLASS HILL (2.10 Naas)
SPYGLASS HILL has been noted as jumping markedly out to his left on occasions but hasn’t had many opportunities to run on left-handed tracks (most Irish tracks are right-handed). HIs two runs this way around saw him run fifth at Listowel on his hurdling debut when no doubt in need of the experience and, last=-time out, second of 17 over an inadequate 2m3f trip at Naas. HIs sole success came over three miles and there could be plenty of improvement to come now that he’s back up in trip on a left-handed track in the Grade 2 Naas Racecourse Club Novice Chase (2.10).
