Top tipster Andrew Mount hit the one-two in the 4.20 at Goodwood yesterday (3-1 and 20-1), with the forecast paying over 70-1. He has two selections at Goodwood and Musselburgh on Thursday
ZABEEL CHAMPION – 1.45 Goodwood
ZABEEL CHAMPION went off too hard at Yarmouth on his reappearance and may not have been suited by the very fast ground (described as good to firm, firm in places). His four other runs have produced form figures of 1211 (3-4), with the defeat by a short head over an inadequate 7f trip, and he can continue his progression with victory in this 1m2f handicap.
BALLYARE – 5.30 Musselburgh
It paid to be drawn high and to race close to the stands’ side rail in the 6f Ayr handicap won by Dick Datchery on July 14th, with the 22-1 winner bursting down the rail from stall 7 of 12 to deny Medicine Jack (stall 10). The third (Mr Wagyu from stall 3) and the fourth (Abate from stall 6) both won next time out and we get the chance to back BALLYARE today. He was only eighth (stall 5) in that Ayr contest but challenged towards the outer and struggled to see out the 6f trip. Dropping back to 5f will suit, as will the drop from Class 5 to Class 6 level, and he looks well berthed in stall 9 of 11 today.
