Andrew Mount (@TrendHorses) returns with more best bets this Wednesday as he focuses on the meetings at Lingfield and Chelmsford.
Ben Curtis is having a great winter and it’s interesting to see him booked for Simon Dow’s SUBLIMINAL in the 1m2f Betway Handicap at Lingfield (2.40), his first ride for the yard. The four-year-old’s latest win came over course and distance and it’s good to see him back up to this trip after four runs over shorter. Simon Dow does especially well in December, scoring with 21 of his 104 runners since 2013 (20.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £96.87 to a £1 level stake at SP.
Rae Guest has a fine record with his second-time out juveniles on the all-weather, scoring with five of the 14 runners since 2012 for a profit of £43.60 to a £1 level stake at SP. Five of the nine beaten horses finished in the first four at odds of 50-1, 33-1, 33-1, 14-1 and 7-1. ROSA GOLD could only finish tenth of 12 at Kempton on her debut last month but it was interesting to see her go off at just 8-1 despite being drawn widest of all. She needs to have improved significantly in a short space of time but that’s far from impossible and she’s worth chancing at an each-way price in the 1m Median Auction Maiden at Chelmsford (3.55).
