2.00 Southwell – MONSIEUR FANTAISIE (2pt win – 5/2 bet365)
Peter Niven’s MONSIEUR FANTAISIE was sent off at 5-1 for his in-form yard in a 7f handicap at Newcastle on February 4th but trailed home in eighth place after racing keenly. The seven-year-old has won four times on left-handed tracks – twice at Southwell and twice at Chelmsford – but his inability to settle causes problems on straight tracks and it’s safe to ignore that disappointing effort. The veteran’s four course outings have produced form figures of 2121 (2-4), improving to 121 (2-3) over today’s 7f trip, with the defeat by a head, and he can bounce back this afternoon.

6.15 Dundalk – OHMYVIETTE (1pt win – 5/1 Paddy Power)
Brigadier Kakuru is bidding for a hat-trick of course and distance wins but he was all out to land odds of 4-5 last time and he could be taken on for the lead by Moonhall Lass and Lyle The Crocodile, especially the former. The hold-up horse who could benefit is OHMYVIETTE, who didn’t have the race run to suit when keeping on from the rear to run third over 5f here last time (the winner and runner-up raced one-two throughout). The step up to 6f should suit.

Andrew Mount’s Cheltenham Focus – Fred Winter a Focal Point for Opening Day Profit
This week I’m going to take a detailed looked at the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle, best known as the Fred Winter and a race with a history of shock results. Had we backed all 451 runners in this 2m contest since its inception in 2005 we’d have lost only £5.00 to a £1 level stake…
