TOP NOTCH TOMMY has caught the eye from off the pace at Newcastle the last twice, clearly finding 5f too sharp on his latest outing. He steps back up to 6f for his handicap debut and progeny of Brazen Beau tend to perform well in all-weather handicaps in the early months of the year, winning 11 of their 34 starts in January and February for a huge profit of £108.70.
Those figures are impressive even accounting for an 80-1 winner. The ones who were making their handicap debuts, as Top Notch Tommy is, had a 50% strike-rate (five from ten) for a profit of £12.88. I’ve saved on JUST ANOTHER.
