5.05 Chepstow – MYTHE BRIDGE (1pt win – 6/1 bet365)
MYTHE BRIDGE is a massive unit who was never going to be suited by the sharp right-handed track at Market Rasen last time on his debut for Henry Daly. The seven-year-old hated the track and jumped out to his left on occasions yet still managed to run second to Camino Rocio. The time was quick – he’s top on Proform’s last time out figures – and the switch to this galloping left-handed venue, aligned with the step up to an extended 3m2f trip, looks sure to suit.
5.20 Doncaster – BLUE LAKOTA (1pt win – 10/1 bet365)
BLUE LAKOTA is a typical son of Sioux Nation in that he seems most effective in small fields, with ten runners being the cut off point. Backing the sire’s runners in fields of ten or less would have found 144 winners from 761 bets (18.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £79.17 to a £1 level stake at SP. In races of 7f or shorter the score is 108 from 522 (20.7%) for a profit of £144.66 (expected winners = 81.94. A/E = 1.32). Since undergoing wind surgery last autumn, Blue Lakota’s runs under these conditions have returned form figures of 21131 (3-5), with the runner-up effort by a short head when mugged on the line by a late closer after making the running at Newcastle (5f) and the third place by just over one length when repeatedly denied a clear passage in a ten-runner 6f handicap at the same venue where he was ridden patiently after a slow start. He’s yet to show much on turf but is three runs on this surface came in novice company – all over a stiff 6f – when starting at odds of up to 150-1.

Andrew’s Angles – How to Find Early-season Profits with Two-Year-Olds
With Cheltenham and Aintree behind us I’m going to turn my attention to the Flat turf season and attempt to identify some profitable angles. Two-year-old races can be a turn-off for punters at this time of year as we’re usually dealing with a host of unraced horses but there are plenty of winner-finding angles… Foaling…
