2.50 Kempton – STAR OF AFFINITY (1.5pt win – 4/1 William Hill, 7/2 generally)
Joe Tizzard’s STAR OF AFFINITY has done well since returning from a summer wind operation, landing an 18-runner handicap hurdle in game fashion at Exeter (2m, good), placing twice in fields of ten runners and, last time out, returning to winning ways in a field of 16 at Taunton (2m3f, good to soft). The big fields assisted this sometime-keen sort for both of his wins and today’s 15-runner line-up and the plethora of pacesetters is likely to produce another strong gallop. Since taking over the licence from his father, Joe Tizzard has done supremely well with last time out winners who were returned to the track relatively quickly (within 25 days), scoring with 24 of the 59 qualifiers (41%) for a profit of £34.58 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 14.47, A/E = 1.66).
