4.30 Plumpton – I SEE YOU WELL (1pt win – 11/1 888sport, 10/1 generally)
Odds-on favourite Havaila was flattered when scoring in a 2m7.5f handicap chase at Lingfield on his penultimate start as he raced wide on the better ground. He couldn’t back that up over the same track and trip next time and the first-time hood is a worrying sign, as is the much faster going. Second favourite Basford has proved hard to win with of late and his record in handicap company reads 22221P764325 (1-12). He too wears first-time headgear (blinkers) and can also be taken on. This leaves outsider I SEE YOU WELL, trainer by in-form Seamus Mullins. The veteran has struggled in his three runs this term but would have needed his comeback effort and the ground was too soft the next twice. He’s six from 18 at today’s venue (+£12.66 to a £1 level stake at SP), likes fast ground and often goes well in the spring.
