7.30 Wolverhampton – CHARENCEY (1pt win – 14/1 bet365, 12/1 generally) & MART (0.5pt win – 16/1 bet365, 14/1 generally)
CHARENCEY was a Newcastle winner in the corresponding week last week and was an eyecatcher over 1m at Carlisle on his penultimate start, doing best of the closers in third. He was stepped up from Class 4 to Class 3 level to finish a solid 33-1 sixth of 14 at Newcastle next time and the subsequent wind operation could bring about improvement. The four-year-old drops down to Class 5 level for the first time since his head second in a 7f Leicester handicap in July.
MART has run poorly the last twice, finishing an 18-1 tenth of 12 at Yarmouth before 28-1 ninth of 11 at Kempton. However, both those runs came in Class 4 company and he drops back down to Class 5 level today. Dylan Cunha’s three-year-old was a 16-1 winner at Brighton on September 1st when last running in this grade and has form figures in Class 5 or lower company of 668113122111 (6-12) for a profit of £29.88 to a £1 level stake at SP (his record above this level stands at 645522048809 (0-12)). The son of Dark Angel was a winner on his only previous visit to Wolverhampton and is worth a saver despite having yet to win at tonight’s 7f trip.
