7.30 Bath – MY DELILAH (1pt win – 9/2 William Hill, BetVictor)
MY DELILAH has a modest strike-rate (one win from 14 starts) and her trainer, Adrian Wintle, is hardly firing in winners left, right and centre this season. However, the four-year-old caught the eye when a 14-1 fourth of eight to So Smart (re-opposes here) in a Class 5 handicap over course and distance on June 7th, doing second best of those to come from off the pace when it paid to be on the front end (the winner made all). Third-placed Sarah’s Verse was beaten by three-quarters of a length under a patient ride, and she won at Ffos Las yesterday. Seventh-placed Four Adaay, also ridden patiently, was just touched off when 8-1 at Nottingham next time and her run Bath was also worthy of a massive upgrade. My Delilah drops to Class 6 level on turf for the first time since her firm-ground course win last May and is worth a small interest.
