DODDIETHEGREAT is something of an odd horse, as he’s unbeaten in four starts on right-handed tracks despite occasionally jumping out to his left. Nicky Henderson’s lightly raced eight-year-old is also unbeaten in three starts on his seasonal debuts and the son of Fame And Glory – a sire whose progeny tend to improve with age – looks open to further progression this season. Three of his four wins have come on officially good ground, but the recent rain is no issue – he was an 18-1 fourth of 21 to stablemate Iberico Lord on heavy going in last season’s Betfair Hurdle at Newbury, a race that is producing plenty of winners this term..
