3.12 Lingfield – UPEPO (1.5pt win – 9/2 bet365, 888Sport, 4/1 generally)
The possible lack of a strong gallop is of some concern for Tony Carroll’s hold-up performer UPEPO but Lingfield form figures of 11131 (4-5) make him hard to resist. The five-year-old’s sole course defeat is easily excused as it came in Certain Style’s race when the apprentice jockeys let the winner go miles clear and score unchallenged. Upepo only just missed on second place that day and would have secured that position had his rider not elected to duck down the inside to challenge. He defied a market drift (9-1 from 13-2) to score over 1m4f here in early December and his stable is flying, with 11 winners from 44 runners in the past fortnight.

3.42 Lingfield – ROGUE ENDEAVOUR (0.5pt e/w – 20/1 bet365)
ROGUE ENDEAVOUR could only finish ninth of 11 at Wolverhampton on his recent debut for Neil Mulholland but the 50-1 shot was poorly drawn towards the inside rail and went down by under five lengths. That race looked like a getting-to-know-you exercise and it’s interesting to see Cieren Fallon take the ride. Fallon is four from 12 for the yard (+£9.25 to a £1 level stake at SP) and stall 6 should help him to stay clear of the ‘dead’ inside rail. Throw in the yard’s fine form and he look worth a small/speculative interest at 10-1+.
