1.32 Carlisle – PRAIRIE WOLF (1pt win, 15/2 William Hill)
PRAIRIE WOLF, last of six and last of four in his first two runs this term, pulled up when 16-1 for the Class 2 Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase at Haydock on his latest outing. However, the Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith-trained seven-year-old scored at the fourth time of asking last season and form figures in the December to February period of 1921141 (4-7) suggest that he shouldn’t be written off. I would have been more confident were he running at Catterick where he has form figures of 211 (2-3), with the defeat by a head, but he placed in a bumper on his only previous Carlisle outing and looks worth
chancing.

3.40 Windsor – FOURTOWNS (1pt ew – 5/1 bet365)
FOURTOWNS was sent off as the 9-4 favourite for Join The Hereford Racing Club “Hands And Heels Handicap Hurdle” on his penultimate start but clearly didn’t enjoy the right-handed track, jumping and hanging to his left on his way to finishing fifth of the seven runners. He found only one too good at Uttoxeter next time to take his record left-handed to 34335F42 (0-8), with the fifth place excusable as he didn’t enjoy the fixed brush hurdles at Worcester. The lack of a “1” among those form figures is a slight worry but he looks sure to run his race on this sharp left-handed track and it will be disappointing if he doesn’t make the frame.

Andrew Mount’s Myth Busters – Does Cheltenham Form Translate from the Old Course to the New Course?
We have a two-day Cheltenham meeting to get stuck into at the end of the week (Friday/Saturday) where the action switches from the Old Course – used during October/November – to the New Course.
