3.45 Curragh – RAADOBARG (1pt e/w – 9/1 bet365 six places, 17-2 Sky Bet seven places) & GLENEAGLE BAY (1pt 11/4 generally)

Last year’s third RAADOBARG has a good record in the spring (March to May), recording form figures of 1111133379 (5-10) for a profit of £7.65 to a £1 level stake at SP. When rested for at least 150 days the score is two wins from three starts and a third place over 1m1f in Group 3 company at Newmarket behind Ottoman Fleet and Poker Face. He’s left the care of George Boughey since last season but still runs in the Amo Racing colours and underfoot conditions (officially soft, heavy in places) are ideal for the son of Night Of Thunder.

The last ten Irish Lincolnshire winners were colts or geldings and ridden by a professional jockey. In the same period, fillies/mares were 0-34 and jockeys claiming an allowance had failed to register a single victory from 70 attempts. Backing all the makes ridden by non-claiming riders wouldn’t have made a profit as there were so many qualifiers but those who were in the top three in the betting had a fine record, winning eight times (from 24 qualifiers) for a profit of £36.00. Raadobarg will probably fall into this category (he was 9-1 third favourite at the time of writing) and GLENEAGLE BAY almost certainly will. The five-year-old was trading at 11-4 at the time of writing and his two runs on slow turf or Polytrack produced a Dundalk debut win at about this time last year and a half-length second of 17 over course and distance last November. Trainer Stephen Thorne is in good form and Colin Keane takes the ride.
