3.35 Newmarket – HEY BOO (0.5pt e/w – 66/1 generally)
HEY BOO is the third fastest horse in the 1000 Guineas according to Proform’s speed ratings and Jack Channon’s filly makes each-way appeal after her encouraging 40-1 reappearance second to Duty First in the Fred Darling at Newbury earlier this month. The daughter of Iffraaj was making her turf debut after going two from two at Chelmsford in February/March and her come-from-behind style wasn’t ideal (the winner and third were prominent throughout). Betty Clover, the patiently-ridden fourth, was only just touched off when 14-1 for a 1m Listed race at Goodwood yesterday and Hey Boo should get a sufficiently strong pace to chase courtesy or Remaat, Lake Victoria and Fred Darling winner Duty First. Fast ground is an unknown quantity, but he’s well drawn in stall 4 on the evidence of the first two days of this meeting and is worth chancing at a huge price.
3.45 Hamilton – ARKENSTAAR (1pt win – 3/1 bet365)
ARKENSTAAR has a five from eight record at Hamilton but has yet to win from 19 starts at other venues. All his wins have come when returned to the track 24 days or sooner since his latest outing, so it was somewhat surprising to see him sent off as the 7-2 favourite when reappearing at Pontefract 20 days ago, a race he was beaten in last year before a return to Hamilton. His patient style left him at a disadvantage, and he had to settle for a four-length seventh of nine. Michael Dods five-year-old won this race second time out last term and can repeat the trick.

Andrew’s Angles – How to Find Early-season Profits with Two-Year-Olds
With Cheltenham and Aintree behind us I’m going to turn my attention to the Flat turf season and attempt to identify some profitable angles. Two-year-old races can be a turn-off for punters at this time of year as we’re usually dealing with a host of unraced horses but there are plenty of winner-finding angles… Foaling…
