4.10 Taunton – AURIGNY MILL (1pt win – 2/1 William Hill)
AURIGNY MILL had plenty of form right-handed when with Victor Dartnall, recording form figures in this direction over hurdles of 4712511 (3-7). He lost his way on his final three starts for the now-retired Dartnall (all on left-handed tracks) but bolted up at Newbury in early November on his debut for Robert Walford. That win surprised me, as I didn’t think he’d enjoy the left-handed venue (he has jumped out to his right on occasions), but he was clearly well handicapped and made it two from three for his current yard when winning well backed over 2m3f here last time. All ground seems to come alike and a 4lb rise for that ready Class 2 success could be on the generous side. He drops back down to Class 3 level today and is likely to prove hard to beat.
