2.35 Ffos Las – MY GRANNY LILY (1pt win – 14/1 bet365)
MY GRANNY LILY fell early on her one and only previous start over fences but that came at Ludlow where the obstacles are tricky to negotiate. That run came second time out last season and she progressed in handicap hurdle company afterwards, scoring on heavy ground at Ffos Last on her next outing and signing off for the 2023/24 campaign with a solid 16-1 fourth from off the pace at Stratford, a track where such tactics are hard to pull off. She ran well for a long way at the same venue on last months’ reappearance before lack of peak fitness told and she’s worth chancing now returned to fences at the scene of her sole previous success.

3.54 Warwick – ERNEST GREY (1pt ew – 11/1 bet365)
ERNEST GREY showed a good attitude when landing a 3m handicap chase at Southwell in January, but he didn’t progress over fences subsequently and was often let down by his jumping. Alan King’s seven-year-old has always seemed happiest when racing left-handed in small fields and it’s safe to ignore his comeback defeat at right-handed Exeter where he finished an 18-1 fifth of 13 in a Class 3 handicap hurdle, beaten by 25 lengths. The son of Walk In The Park faces just eight rivals in this 0-120 Class 4 contest and the return to left-handed Warwick could bring about a return to form – his two runs here produced a bumper win and a fourth place in novice hurdle company behind Ginny’s Destiny, Mexico and Lookaway, horses subsequently rated as high as 155, 129 and 137 respectively.
