image-left-align SamTurnerEve Johnston Houghton has made a bright start to the spring and FRANK BRIDGE (Newmarket, nap, 4.10) is fancied to keep the yard on a roll with optimum conditions likely at Newmarket on Tuesday.

The five-year-old boasts a very respectable six wins from 21 starts and made big strides on rain-softened ground last summer, including taking a Class 3 Sandown handicap over today’s trip in early August. Not only did he win the race, he did the job impressively, staying on powerfully to score unchallenged.

Frank Bridge has recorded some decent numbers with cut in the ground and with the Rowley Mile posting good to soft (soft in places) on Monday evening, then he’ll have optimum conditions for a return to action.

MJJACK (Newmarket, 5.20) had an excellent second season and should be sharper for his recent outing over an inadequate trip in Listed company at Doncaster. Karl Burke’s colt is well suited to a strong gallop, seven furlongs and a big field, and this afternoon’s contest should tick all boxes.

SKYWARDS REWARD (Carlisle, 4.30) is in great form and did his fastest speed figure when winning over course and distance last time. The gelding romped home by a facile 17 lengths in a conditional jockeys’ race and is unpenalised for that.

It will be very disappointing if he cannot maintain his impressive form in this company, under ideal conditions.
