Sam Turner's Best Bets BlogThe 6f sprint at Lingfield is poorly supported but that will not concern CHAMPION BROGIE (Lingfield, nap, 1.55) who went very close over course and distance in a six-runner handicap 10 days ago.

The selection may only have won once but it was in a decent £12,000 French claimer and he nearly added to the cv last time in a race run at a decent clip. Fired up early on, the gelding then settled well and attacked from a furlong out. Unfortunately, after hitting the front late on, he was overhauled close home by a faster finisher.

Champion Brogie was backed in from an opening 12/1 that day, so it was a frustrating result for backers. However, he is clearly in decent nick at the moment and is napped to go one better this afternoon.

GLOBAL WONDER (Lingfield, 3.40) is another on the one-winner mark after victory here two races ago over a mile. It was a dramatic success as he had to negotiate a narrow gap a furlong out, then hit the front only to lose the lead, regain it and win going away.

Not so good at Chelmsford last month he returns to action over 2f longer, with a style of running indicating the extra yardage can suit.

NOT THAT FUISSE (Taunton, nb, 2.55) had a fine spring, winning at Uttoxeter and Aintree before being put away for the summer. Yet to get off the mark this term, he has been running in better company and was unfortunate to bump into a well-backed and easy winner Al Dancer in December.

He still clocked a good figure after hitting a flat spot and then picking up well, and should relish this first try at 2m3f.
