Day three of Cheltenham’s November Meeting will take place on Sunday 17th November, 2024 and the six-race card should serve up some thrilling contests at Jumps HQ. The feature race of the day is the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at 3:30pm and our tipster Steve Chambers has a selection for that event, as well as a couple of other selections for the racing at Prestbury Park.
1:45pm Cheltenham – Cheltenham Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase
A winner on his chase debut at Galway at the start of October, Gavin Cromwell’s THE OTHER MOZZIE then failed to follow up a couple of weeks later when falling when well beaten at the same track. The Irish raider will be looking to make amends for that defeat and he can do just that by claiming victory in the 1:45pm contest at Cheltenham on Sunday.
A poor jump at the first that day may have knocked his confidence as his jumping certainly lacked fluency, but Cromwell is sure to have him working on that since that tumble and he should be a lot better in this event. Given a rating of 134 for his handicap debut over fences, The Other Mozzie will face some lively rivals in the shape of Peaky Boy and Leader In The Park, but it’s Cromwell’s charge that can bounce back to form and land this prize.

GG Jumps Journal – So What Do You Know About Racing?
In racing circles, the fascination and fear surrounding public perception of the sport is inescapable. Constant and consistent changes to the Grand National, the padding and colouring of hurdles, and repeated reassertions of welfare on ITV Racing are reminders that there is a world which spans far beyond our own, blissfully unaware that Ballyburn might…
Wed 13 Nov 20242:55pm Cheltenham – Holland Cooper Handicap Chase
Kim Bailey’s DOES HE KNOW ran really well on his comeback run at Cheltenham last month, as he finished fourth behind Senior Chief in a hugely competitive 3m 1f event. He steps up in trip a bit for the 2:55pm on Sunday and sure to strip fitter for that outing he looks the one to beat. Dropped 2lbs by the handicapper for that effort, he’s now only 1lb higher than his last winning mark, so he’s entitled to go close.
He has some notable winning form at Cheltenham having beaten Eva’s Oskar in this race back in 2022 and 2lbs lower in the handicap for this contest then he has to be a huge player. The nine-year-old will face some huge challengers in the shape of the bottom weight Hymac and the enigmatic Monbeg Genius, but the Bailey raider is a really solid option in what will be a real stamina test.
3:30pm Cheltenham – Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle
Fergal O’Brien’s Dysart Enos has long been fancied for the Greatwood and the classy mare heads into the contest with a perfect record of six wins out of six. Not seen on the track since January, where she bounded to victory at Doncaster, the six-year-old is returning after a lengthy absence and she might just prove vulnerable to a race-fit rival and the one to watch is BURDETT ROAD for James Owen.
One of the most exciting juvenile hurdlers last season, Burdett Road was last seen over hurdles finishing behind Sir Gino on Festival Trials Day, but he has been blossoming on the Flat all season and looks capable of turning Group winning form on the level to victory over obstacles. Rated in the high 100s on the Flat, he takes his chance off 137 in this event, and he could easily prove to be significantly better than that. With the ground sure to suit, if he can replicate his win at Cheltenham prior to that Sir Gino loss, where he cruised to a six-and-a-half length win, then he is the one to be with.
