1.55 Hamilton – Indiaro – 0.5pt e/w @ 40/1
This is a poor race although the favourite will prove tough to beat if able to reproduce the form of his recent victory. It might be worth taking a chance on the four-year-old INDIARO at a wild price. He is 0-7 and reappearing after a long break so a leap of faith is needed but his two runs last season over today’s 6f were not devoid of promise. The first of those came in Novice Company here at Hamilton when finishing fourth behind Last Empire rated 97, now, he was no match for that rival beaten 4 lengths but he did finish well and had the beating of See My Baby Jive rated 60 and Perfect Charm rated 65 who were 2 lengths adrift. Two starts later after a failed attempt at 7f connections dropped him back to six and he ran encouragingly off a mark of 60. He was short of room but ran on strongly to finish 7th beaten just 3 ¼ lengths. His final two starts came on soft and heavy ground and can be forgiven but he is now down to a mark of 51 and he has shown enough to think that he can make his presence felt off this mark with today’s drying ground more in his favour than most.
3.25 Hamilton – Perfect Rose - 0.5pt e/w @13/2
PERFECT ROSE ran encouragingly on her seasonal return off the back of a 396 day lay-off when fading late on from a wide draw at Beverley behind a subsequent winner. She looks feasible treated here two pieces of form as a two-year-old and this race looks a good opportunity for her to make a winning start at the second attempt in handicaps now race fit. On paper this looks easier than her return assignment and I suspect Joe Fanning will be keen to make all of the running and she could have things her own way.
3.25 Deauville – Malotru 1pt e/w @ 40/1
The price tag about MALOTRU is an absolute insult to one of the most progressive horses of the season. He has it all to do to beat Pinatubo but there are two other places to play for and he should be shorter in the market than the likes of Wooded who saw his progression come over 6f and not 7f. The selection is unlucky himself not to be a Group 3 and Group 2 winner over 6f and this step back up to 7f which saw him reach new heights at Lingfield after a 195 days break recently will see him in a better light. He has not had the opportunity to reach the heights of some of the runners in the field but it would be foolish to think this horse doesn’t have more to offer this term. I am astounded they have offered this price about this horse.
3.55 Hamilton – Bawaader – 0.5pt e/w @ 7/1
BAWAADER caught the eye finishing strongly behind Global Exceed last time out and the headgear looks to have bought out more in the five-year-old. He is lightly raced for his age with just the 9 starts and although yet to hit the score sheet he showed enough last time out to think that his time is near. He has only had two starts on turf and this extra ½ a furlong will suit and providing the headgear works at second time of asking he could prove tough to beat if he is able to gain a prominent position from a good draw in stall 2.
