Sam Turner's Best Bets BlogSHARED EQUITY (Doncaster, nap, 5.10) is yet to win at Doncaster but has had some near misses this year and is due a change of fortune on Friday.

The selection has hit the target once in 2018, making all in a £31,000 race at Epsom but failed to follow up when tried on the all-weather for the first time and then flopped at Galway in a warm contest. He has been freshened up since the Irish exertions and now returns for an autumn campaign.

Shared Equity does need things to fall right but when it does, he has plenty of pace to burn and if on his toes today, could prove hard to catch.

THOMAS HOBSON (Doncaster, 3.35) makes the long trip over from County Carlow and is fancied to make up for lost time after a truncated season. The eight-year-old has only seen a racecourse twice this year including 20 days ago when over a trip too short and needing the outing, his effort petered out late on.

That should have him teed up perfectly and he is taken to go one better in this Group 2 after being caught late on by Desert Skyline in 2017.

The day’s finale can go the way of JAZEEL (Doncaster, nb, 5.45) who looked to get stuck in the mud in a better race at Goodwood 19 days ago. The Town Moor turf is drying out nicely and, with the weather set fair, the three-year-old has a much better chance of reproducing his best speed figures.
