1:50pm Doncaster – William Hill Bet 10 Get 10 Spring Mile Handicap
Gemma Tutty’s LOOK BACK SMILING was a sensational half-length winner of this race 12 months ago and the five-year-old is back to try and retain his crown at Doncaster in the Spring Mile Handicap at 1:50pm. He failed to kick on from that victory last season, but some disappointing runs have seen him slip back down the handicap. He actually lines up here 1lb lower than last year, so if he can show his best form in the early part of the season again then he looks more than capable of claiming victory in the race again.

3:00pm Doncaster – William Hill Doncaster Mile Stakes
Ed Bethell’s POINT LYNAS was last seen on British shores rocketing to a five-and-a-half length victory in the Listed Pomfret Stakes at Pontefract back in July. A runaway winner that day, the six-year-old has to be a leading player for this prize, if he can emulate that performance. He has had one run this year, and that came in a competitive contest in Doha, where he finished second. A return to these shores is likely to bring on some more improvement and he can get the better of the likes of Liberty Lane and Dancing Gemini, who both have some very smart form in the book.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the afternoon at Doncaster is the Lincoln Handicap at 3:35pm and there will be a bumper field of 22 runners going to post. The likes of Thunder Run and Midnight Gun are entitled to be well fancied, but the one that makes most appeal is NATIVE WARRIOR for Karl Burke. Third in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot last season, he then went on to run a blinder at Glorious Goodwood highlighting his love for big-field handicaps. He’s likely to progress further this season and everything is tailor-made for him to go very close in what is a cracking renewal.
