Leg 1: 1.45pm

Leg 1 Selections: (1) Banbridge

Banbridge was a non-runner at the Festival due to the ground so will be fresher than some of these today. Today he runs at the correct trip, gets decent enough ground and the yard have been in the winners recently to boot. Should have a big run in him against horses who had a tough run at the Festival.

A sole selection in Leg 1.

Leg 2: 2.20pm

Leg 2 Selections: (11) Zelta (4) Nusret

The Irish juveniles look a class above the British this year, and the Zelta has by far the best form in the race when 3rd in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham last time out. He could be a class above these today and has to go in the Placepot.

I will also add in the capable Nusret, again for the Joseph O’Brien yard who missed the Festival, and this looks to have been the plan all along.

Leg 3: 2.55pm

Leg 3 Selections: (1) Ahoy Senor (2) A Plus Tard

A tough contest with a lot of class, however I’ll avoid both Shishkin and Bravemansgame who both had visually tough races at Cheltenham.

Ahoy Senor fell in the Gold Cup but didn’t get a hard time of it and if unscathed he can go really well. He won at this meeting last time and seems to come alive on a track that suits so well. A Plus Tard is also better than what we saw in the Gold Cup and could be a big threat.

Leg 4: 3.30pm

Leg 4 Selections: (1) Constitution Hill.

Constitution Hill. The End.

Leg 5: 4.05pm

Leg 5 Selections: (27) Winged Leader (2) Bennys King (14) Its On The Line

Winged Leader we know is a real force in these contests and comes here off the back of a long break. He can go well fresh and has strong credentials with the aid of a top amateur. Bennys King is interesting in this sphere – having been running in proper Graded company not so long ago. Its On The Line completes the trio here having been running consistently well and has Derek O’Conner booked today which is a real plus.

Leg 6: 4.40pm

Leg 6 Selections: (1) Third Time Lucki (10) The Last Day (14) Hatcher

Third Time Lucki ran a brilliant race at Cheltenham, despite a couple of poor jumps and not getting a clear run. He’s in fine form and is weighted to go well here. Hatcher goes in having been quickly turned out here, and his jockey claiming a very handy 5lbs. I will also include last year’s winner The Last Day as this looks to have been the plan for him once again and he will be spot on for the repeat bid.

Suggested Bet

Leg 1 Selections: (1) Banbridge

Leg 2 Selections: (11) Zelta (4) Nusret

Leg 3 Selections: (1) Ahoy Senor (2) A Plus Tard

Leg 4 Selections: (1) Constitution Hill.

Leg 5 Selections: (27) Winged Leader (2) Bennys King (14) Its On The Line

Leg 6 Selections: (1) Third Time Lucki (10) The Last Day (14) Hatcher

36 lines @ £1 a line = £36
