The course handicap won by Kevin Bishop's mare two starts ago has worked out nicely with the third going in since and the drop in grade can see her win again.
CITRUS (Taunton, 1.00) was sixth in the same handicap at Wincanton and could be an intriguing runner in the opener. David Pipe's gelding was a comprehensive winner at Plumpton on his previous start and, although he looks handicapped up to the hilt, the first-time hood could extract a little more improvement.
The layers have discounted the chances of Citrus but he could outrun his odds with conditions to suit.
Hopefully the weather in the north west will relent and GLOBAL STAGE (Haydock, 3.10) will have the opportunity to strut his stuff in the novice hurdle. The selection looked a machine in the bumper he contested on his debut for the Fergal O'Brien stable before being worried out of it close home.
I loved the way the son of Multiplex moved through that race and he looks assured of making a real impact over hurdles.
